1. Scope and Contact

This policy applies to the PazPort app, pazport.app, and related services that link to it (the "Services"). PazPort is the operator responsible for the information described here.

Privacy questions and requests: support@pazport.app.

2. Information We Handle

The information depends on the features you choose:

  • App and website use: app version, platform, language, settings, feature state, browser or device details, and network request data. The marketing website uses separate language URLs and does not save a language preference on your device. If you choose a light or dark website appearance, that preference is stored in your browser only; it is not sent to PazPort. Choose Auto to follow your device setting and remove the saved choice.
  • Optional account: email address; sign-in provider identifiers and basic provider metadata; account and session identifiers; your chosen PazPort profile name and avatar; synced preferences; and eligible crossing history.
  • Location, with permission: precise foreground or background location for nearby results, recommendations, widgets, and optional automatic wait tracking. PazPort does not upload raw GPS traces.
  • Crossing activity: a completed crossing may produce a summary such as crossing and lane, start or end time, duration, and limited on-device-derived route measurements. A qualifying record may be connected to your account when you are signed in; guest contributions are not connected to an account.
  • Optional analytics: after you turn on "Share anonymous app usage," PazPort may collect broad screen and feature actions, app and platform context, timestamps, and anonymous device or session identifiers. These events exclude account details, email, precise location, selected crossings, document answers, logs, and advertising identifiers.
  • Submissions and support: lane feedback, corrected wait values, and information you include in a support message, including your reply email and limited app details you choose to include. Support messages are not sent to analytics.
  • Security: authentication events, CAPTCHA results, app or device integrity signals, and limited technical records used to prevent fraud and protect accounts and reports.

3. How We Use Information

The marketing website does not load advertising or analytics scripts. Our hosting provider receives the technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the service. If you start the contact form's security check, Cloudflare Turnstile loads and processes browser, network, and verification information to prevent abuse. Sending the form shares your email, topic, message, language, and a request identifier with our support service. Preview sites disable form submission. You can also contact us by email.

We use information to:

  • provide waits, planning tools, guides, cameras, and related features;
  • find nearby crossings and run features you enable;
  • create and secure optional accounts and sync selected data;
  • process feedback and improve wait estimates and reliability;
  • send service, tracking, account, or security notices you request or need;
  • understand broad feature use only after analytics consent; and
  • prevent abuse, troubleshoot, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.

4. Local and Account Data

You can use core PazPort features without an account. Preferences, favorites, guide progress, crossing history, and prepared documents may be kept on your device. Document answers and prepared files are not uploaded to PazPort unless you choose to send or share them through another service.

If you create an account, selected profile information, preferences, and eligible crossing history may be stored with our service provider so they can be restored or synchronized. Signing out does not automatically erase local data. Account deletion is available in the App and removes account data, while device-only history remains until you clear it separately.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information:

  • to vendors that provide hosting, authentication, email, anti-abuse, app integrity, analytics, and support services;
  • to Apple or Google when you use their sign-in, app-store, or device-security services;
  • to a map, camera, media, government, or other third-party site when you choose to open or play that content;
  • when required to comply with law or protect rights and safety; or
  • as part of a merger, financing, sale, or restructuring.

Key vendors may include Supabase, Cloudflare, PostHog, Apple, Google, and email-delivery providers. They process information under their own terms and, where applicable, for PazPort. We require vendors processing personal information for us to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law.

PazPort does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use advertising networks. We may use or disclose aggregate or deidentified data that does not reasonably identify you.

6. Retention

Local data remains until the App removes it under its storage limits, you clear it, or you remove the App or browser data. Account data is generally kept while the account is active. Account deletion removes account data from active systems, subject to limited legal, security, backup, and fraud-prevention retention.

Crossing summaries, feedback, analytics, support messages, and technical records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Aggregate or deidentified service data may be retained longer because it no longer reasonably identifies you. Support message content, reply email, app details, and account linkage are removed from the active support queue after 30 days.

7. Choices, Rights, and Account Deletion

  • Use core features as a guest.
  • Change or revoke location and notification access in device settings.
  • Turn wait tracking and anonymous analytics on or off in the App.
  • Review or change account profile and synced preferences.
  • Clear crossing history or delete your account in the App.
  • Clear local app, browser, or cookie data on your device.

Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, opposition, or withdrawal of consent. Email support@pazport.app. We may verify your identity. You do not need to create an account to make a request. If you cannot use in-App deletion, email with the subject "Delete my account." If we deny a request, you may reply to appeal.

8. Regional Privacy Notices

California and other U.S. states: The categories collected, sources, purposes, and disclosures during the prior 12 months are described above. Where applicable, residents may use the rights in Section 7 without discrimination. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. We process precise location only for requested features and do not use it to infer unrelated characteristics.

Mexico: You may exercise rights of access, rectification, cancellation, or opposition (ARCO), limit use or disclosure, or revoke consent by using the contact in Section 7. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries by the service providers described above for the stated purposes. Where transfer consent is required, we will request it.

Because PazPort does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is no sale or advertising profile to opt out of through Global Privacy Control. We do not otherwise respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

9. Children's Privacy

PazPort is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact support@pazport.app.

10. Security and International Processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No system is completely secure. PazPort and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

11. Third-Party Services

PazPort may show or link to official websites, maps, live camera players, app stores, and other third-party services. When you open them, those parties may receive network and device information under their own privacy policies. PazPort does not control their practices.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as PazPort changes. We will post the new date here and provide additional notice when a change is material. If a change requires consent, we will ask before applying the new use to your personal information.
